The one where we built the world’s most popular venue, in the world’s biggest game.

The Brief

June 21st 2021 was meant to be our ‘Freedom Day’. Instead, we got plunged into another few months of no live music, musicians and venues. And as the brand that, more than any other, has supported live music for 20 years, O2 came to us with a need to rethink live experiences.

O2 Arena in Fortnite

We wanted to make sure we could still bring the thrill and joy of attending a live gig to all our music fans, even if we were still stuck in our living rooms.

So, brick for brick, we rebuilt The O2 in a virtual world. Well, the world’s most famous virtual world – Fortnite, and we reimagined live music without limitations.

Securing a partnership with Epic Games, we set about designing a player-first experience, moving players through six incredible environments each streaming songs from up-and-coming band Easy Life, and we allowed our players to access exclusive O2 rewards.

The results

362 pieces of coverage. 10M+ attendees. 15.2M concert views.
